Business Buzz: What is innovation to SMEs?

2 May 2017 | 8:00 am - 9:00 am

Innovation is a word business owners often hear floating around but do we really know what it means?

Join us at this special Business Buzz, as Pi-Shen Seet (Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation) begins the discussion surrounding innovation for SMEs, what it means, and how business owners can capitalise on access to knowledge, resources and networks through collaboration with universities.

This Business Buzz will be open to a larger group to really encourage open discussion and conversation around ‘innovation’ and will be held at the Stirling Business Centre in Balcatta. Coffee and cake will be provided.

Your presenter:

Pi-Shen Seet is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at ECU’s School of Business and Law where he is deputy director in the Centre for Work and Organisational Performance (CWOP) and where he teaches on the MBA and Bachelor of Business programs. Previously from the University of Adelaide and Flinders University, his research interests are in how different actors in innovation systems, especially SMEs, overcome challenges as they seek to grow their new ventures or transform their existing organisations. He has been awarded the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Limited Private Equity Research Prize.
