Business Buzz: Many heads are better than one

7 March 2017 | 8:00 am - 9:00 am

As a business owner, who do you turn to when you need impartial, confidential help and advice? Where do you go to get new ideas? Who keeps you accountable for working on your plan and increasing your profits? Do you know what your business is worth if you want to sell and exit or bring in partners?

Imagine you have your own support team who you can take a problem to, an issue, an idea or a project, which on your own you cannot move on from. Now you have many heads focusing on your issue from many different angles, experiences and skills giving you ideas and solutions. It may only take one idea, one gold nugget, to totally change your business for the better.

At this month’s Business Buzz Alan Nelson and John Denton from Business Owners Board will facilitate a ‘mini’ Board session to demonstrate the amazing power of many heads working on your business. Come along with your number one business issue to get answers and ideas.

Alan Nelson is a serial business builder and has created many businesses in industries from truffles to trains to recycling to labour hire to limousines to tourism and others. One of his companies was listed twice as one of the top 100 fastest growing companies in Australia.

John Denton has been a high achiever in sales, customer service and management and has had extensive experience with the needs of small and medium businesses. John not only built and sold his own leadership and management training business but also worked as a business broker for 5 years and sold a wide variety of businesses.

John and Alan are partners in Business Owners Board (bob). This is a group mentoring program providing business owners with a confidential environment to work on their business, explore new ideas and projects and learn from experts.

As always, our Business Buzz are informative yet casual and informal. Numbers are limited to encourage round table discussion so you can share your stories, ask questions of the presenter and each other. Join us over a coffee and a muffin, learn more about running a small business and meet your local small business owners.
