Online Marketing – doing it yourself

2 November 2016 | 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

If you don’t reach out to customers and establish your brand through marketing, your business is unlikely to succeed. Within your overall marketing strategy it is essential to consider how to engage with customers in the online environment.

From Facebook and Twitter to TripAdvisor and Google+, it is important for all small business owners to understand and embrace the many online opportunities available. With more than 80% of people in Australia stating they are internet users, rising to 97% of those on higher incomes, it is essential for your business to have an online presence.

It’s no longer enough to just to have a website; you need to actively engage with existing and potential customers. Even if you don’t sell your products or services online, people are increasingly using the internet for research – if they can’t easily find your business, they’ll soon find another one.

This workshop will focus on how to maximise your social media presence and drive traffic to your website. An experienced presenter will take you through a range of practical, free and low cost online marketing options, including search engine optimisation (SEO) and social media.

Your presenter:

Mark Kostner is a workshop presenter for the Small Business Development Corporation, specialising in topics relateimage002d to the online environment. His easy presenting style and depth of knowledge of the business and online worlds help to make his subject matter easy for the lay person to understand.  With more than 25 years of business development experience, including running his own businesses, Mark specialises in growing and organisations through structured systemisation using online processes to grow sales.  His business experience includes turning a failing import company around and starting a successful online direct sales venture.
